Malware disguised as a Flash Player installed a Firefox add-on that ausforscht including searches on Google.

Most of the attacks on the Web rather aim at Internet Explorer users who are still in the majority. The runners-up follows the rankings of popular browser Firefox. So it is not surprising, though Firefox users will be target of malware attacks. This add-on inserts banner ads into Google's search results if the user uses the search engine. In addition, the pest is the online activities of the user's monitor, where they are made with Firefox. The data collected is sent to the add-on to a web server that is under the control of the attacker.

The security specialist Trend Micro announced the discovery of this pest in its malware blog. The virus scanner from Trend Micro detect these spyware as "TSPY_EBOD.A. Internet users should download software and updates only from sites you trust - preferably from the manufacturer, warns security specialist.
