[i]Long time rivals in the mobile phone arena Nokia and Microsoft have agreed on a partnership that might result in Microsoft's Office applications appearing on Nokia phones.[/i]

The agreement, which is yet to be officially announced comes as Microsoft sees its dominance being increasingly challenged by competition like Google Docs that allow web-based office application access. With phones getting better and more "web-friendly", users are using their phones to view, edit and transfer official documents, spreadsheets and presentations, right from their phones. So, it was only a matter of time when Microsoft had to partner with Nokia, arguably the worlds largest manufacturer of mobile phones.

On the flip side, Nokia too is facing the heat from newer rivals and software platforms like the iPhone and more recently, Google's very own Android platform. Interestingly, Microsoft and Nokia too compete with each other, albeit indirectly if you add in Windows Mobile, Microsoft's smartphone OS platform to the list of competing mobile OSes. For the same reason, it is widely expected that this co-operation will only exist for MS Office access on Nokia phones and nothing beyond that.

Microblogging website Twitter can be used as a search engine optimisation (SEO) tool, but should not be used by internet businesses as a main source of directing web traffic.

That is the opinion of CatchFriday.com's Lawrence Perry, who suggested via Official Wire that Twitter can complement overall SEO practices and can be regarded as an "additional channel" for reaching a target audience.

Explaining things further, Mr Perry said: "Because tweets are not indexed by Google they don't really drive a lot of traffic to your site. You should not use Twitter as a main SEO tool."

He added that Twitter should not be used solely as a money-making online marketing device either, suggesting that it has public relations and branding benefits for companies too.

Internet research firm Hitwise recently revealed that Twitter has become the 27th most popular website in Britain.

The portal, which is used by celebrities who like blogging their thoughts on the web such as Stephen Fry and Britney Spears, is now more popular than social networking site MySpace in the UK.

Royal reporter Clive Goodman was jailed for four months in 2007 for plotting to hack into royal aides' voicemails.

Ch Supt Philip Williams told the Commons Culture Committee the princes may also have been personally targeted.

The newspaper said it knew of "no evidence" to back the claims and that police had not mentioned them earlier.

The police had not brought up the allegations during their original investigation, a News of the World spokesman said.

In his evidence to MPs, Mr Williams acknowledged that the police had "never been able to prove" their suspicions regarding the two princes' phones.

But pressed about whether they had solid reasons to suspect the princes' personal phones had been hacked into, he replied: "Yes".

"Their voicemails may well have been intercepted," he said.

He was being quizzed, alongside Assistant Commissioner John Yates, on why police had decided not to reopen their investigation into the phone hacking scandal, after a series of stories in the Guardian in July this year reignited interest in it.

Your computer's a busy beaver, rapidly accessing and utilizing files all in the name of bringing you what you want, when you want it. Sometimes it needs a little help tidying up, and that's where these five disk defragmenters come in.
For those of you unfamiliar with the problem of file fragmentation, a quick—and quite simplified—primer is in order. Files are stored on a hard drive in blocks of data. The larger the file, the larger the number of blocks it is composed of. As your operating system accesses files, moves files around, and so on data blocks are not always arranged in the most effective manner. Imagine it like a messy office where as you opened file folders from your file cabinet you frequently placed documents from inside all over the room. You have a great memory, and you can find all the pages from each folder again if you need to, but you waste a lot of time just moving around looking for them.

In a perfect system the blocks of data that compose a file would be in the immediate vicinity of the file header, and your operating system would waste no time at all looking for the other pieces of the file. As it stands, however, on a badly fragmented disk the data can be scattered in pieces across the entire platter of the hard disk. The following defragmentation applications are specialized tools which will help you optimize your hard drive. Continuing with the analogy of the file cabinet, a defragmenter is the helpful assistant that comes in and alphabetizes all your documents in the appropriate folders and file drawers for you.

Apple has wrapped up work on Snow Leopard, the Mac OS X operating system upgrade, and may release it earlier than expected, according to numerous reports on the Web.

John Gruber, who writes the Daring Fireball blog, and has accurately pegged other Apple moves in the past, said that his sources have put the release of Mac OS X 10.6, aka Snow Leopard, as Aug. 28, just under two weeks away.

One prominent analyst was dubious about an August release. "Early September would be early," countered Gene Munster, an analyst for Piper Jaffray who covers Apple.

OS X Snow Leopard seems to do nothing really new. And yet, it could be their most important OS since 10.0.0.

Snow Leopard, as a follow up to Leopard, is almost absurdly insubstantial at first glance. The new operating system takes the same old boring, every day tasks like opening files, for example, and makes them happen subtly faster. But that performance is not being utilized by any third-party programs right now. And there are practically no new first-party programs by Apple. Nope, mostly just rewritten old ones and dozens of little interface tweaks. Some fanboys will ask, incredulously, "This is a new operating system?!" Those people are missing the point.

On deeper inspection, Snow Leopard's inconspicuous aspects—performance squeezed from underused CPU multicores/GPUs and basic UI tweaks—are found to be the kind of refinement generally reserved for virtuosity. These speed optimizations are deep, reminding me of when a master martial artist puts the entirety of his weight behind a strike (while a neophyte would flails his limbs like a henchman in a Bruce Lee movie). The little UI tweaks are no different than when a great sculptor's chisel works to remove everything non-essential during the final steps on a statue. Challenging 30 years of ever more bloated software tradition, the changes here are about becoming a more effective middleware between the media and the hardware, reducing friction while becoming more useful by, well, being lighter, less visible.

And if you think that's bullshit, well, I can't say you're completely out of your mind, but there's always the consolation that this OS upgrade costs about the same as a used Xbox game.

The online encyclopaedia Wikipedia is on the cusp of launching a major revamp to how people contribute to some pages.

The site will require that revisions to pages about living people and some organizations be approved by an editor.

This would be a radical shift for the site, which ostensibly allows anyone to make changes to almost any entry.

The two-month trial, which has proved controversial with some contributors, will start in the next "couple of weeks", according to a spokesperson.

"I'm sure it will spark some controversy," Mike Peel of Wiki-media UK, a chapter of the organisation that operates Wikipedia, told BBC News.

However, he said, the trial had been approved in an an online poll, with 80% of 259 users in favour of the trial.

"The decision to run this trial was made by the users of the English Wikipedia, rather than being imposed."

The proposal was first outlined by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales in January this year. It was met by a storm of protests from Wikipedia users who claimed the system had been poorly thought out or would create extra work.

'Lock down'

The two-month trial will test a system of "flagged revisions" on the English-language Wikipedia site.

This would mean any changes made by a new or unknown user would have to be approved by one of the site's editors before the changes were published.

Whilst the changes are being mulled over, readers will be directed to earlier versions of the article.

Wikimedia said the system was "essentially a buffer, to reduce the visibility and impact of vandalism on these articles".

There have been several high-profile edits to pages that have given false or misleading information about a person.

For example, in January this year the page of US Senator Robert Byrd falsely reported that he had died.

If a page has a number of controversial edits or is repeatedly vandalised, editors can lock a page, so that it cannot be edited by everyone.

For example, following initial reports of the death of Michael Jackson, editors had to lock down two pages to stop speculation about what had caused his death.

"For these articles, flagged protection will actually make them more open," said Mr Peel.

The decision had been made to focus on the pages of living people, he said, because they were the "most high-profile pages with the highest probability of causing harm".

Intel Next-Gen Mobile Platforms Make Windows 7 Launch an Awesome Time to Buy a Laptop

Windows 7's launch is going to be a hell of a busy time for laptops. Expect a slew of higher-end Intel Core i7 mobile rigs and thin notebooks powered by new dual-core ULV processors when the OS ships.

Intel's next generation Centrino platform, codenamed Calpella, will be launched at the end of September, says MSI. That means speedy new notebooks with Nehalem based mobile CPUs and chipsets will be arriving just in time to put Windows 7 on the hard drive.

MSI will ship 15.4 and 17-inch notebooks powered by Intel's new Core i7 7200M, Core i7 8200M, and Core i7 920XM with Windows 7. The Clarksfield CPU of the mobile Core i7 platform is expected to be a downscaled version of the desktop version we like so much, but will be one of the biggest jumps in laptop power we have seen in awhile. Intel's mobile Core i5 and i3 (codenamed Arrandale) are not planned until the first quarter of 2010.

Also coming from Intel around the same time (our guess this is all coming at September's Intel Developers Conference) are new dual core ULV processors. Intel's ULV (once called CULV) is aimed at ultra thin laptops (those right in between netbooks and mainstreamers, like the Acer Timeline). MSI plans to use the new Core 2 Duo SU4100 and SU7300 chips in its X420 (update to X400) and X620 (an update to the X600) which will ship with Windows 7.

Why do we care? MSI tells us the price of these seriously slim notebooks will stay in the same ballpark (around $600 to $900), but the chips provide better performance than the Celerons that they were formerly using.

What this all really means is that not only is MSI hitting the market with a crap load of notebooks that have brand spankin' new chips and a fresh Microsoft OS, but the other notebook vendors (yes, Apple) will most likely do the same. You may just want to wait to snatch up a new PC; the notebooks are a coming this fall.

The Pirate Bay we know and love, though still harboring torrents for now, is going away. But that doesn't mean BitTorrent is dead. Far from it. Here are five places to get your torrent on after it closes for good.

1. Demonoid.com

Demonoid, besides having a solid community and good quality torrents—no porn, exceedingly few viruses—also operates the other major torrent tracker besides The Pirate Bay. (A tracker is what help makes the whole BitTorrent system work, since it makes sure every peer's talking to each other properly.) It doesn't have the best selection around, but what most of what you'll find there is quality. The catch is that you need to snag an invitation from a member or when they periodically dole them out to the public.

2. Mininova.org

Mininova's always one of our preferred torrent sites—tons of torrents from multiple trackers, not a lot of crap in the interface, and the search isn't bad. Actually, it's kind of the like The Pirate Bay, but with less crap and fewer headaches. The catch now is that they're slowly implementing a new copyright filter to keep copyrighted torrents from being uploaded. But you should still be able to find True Blood on there, no problem.

3. ISOHunt.com

ISOHunt is a BitTorrent and P2P search engine that's got what feels like the most sophisticated search engine of the bunch. But like the others, you just punch in what you're looking for, and it pulls up results you can sort by seeds, date or whatever. It has one of the most massive indices of any site, so it's a good thing the search engine is up to it. Still, with a lot of torrents, it can be hard to find exactly what you're looking for.

BTJunkie claims to be the largest torrent search engine of all, with around 5,000-25,000 new torrents added to the index daily. The quantity doesn't seem noticeably better than the other sites listed above, however. Also, the interface is really ugly. But you know, it's there if you need it.

If you've downloaded a TV show, whatever site you snagged it from, chances are, it came from these guys. They're the most prolific TV rippers around, and usually have solid quality rips of shows up within hours of airing. If you're interested in TV, you might as well just go to the source—their site points to wherever their files are hosted, so you don't have to search through a million different sites to find the right EZTV torrent.

The whole scene is admittedly a bit depressing now, after years of high profile closures—Suprnova, OiNK TorrentSpy and LokiTorrent—so these are what's left of the big sites. And even they're not guaranteed to survive. Demonoid went offline for several months back in 2007-2008, Mininova has a copyright filter attached to it, and really, any site is just a police raid away from possibly going down. So tread carefully, and don't get too attached to any of them.

One solution would be to use a portable version of Firefox on a USB drive, or you can access a hidden browser in Microsoft HTML Help program if removable media is not an option. Open calculator. You can do this quickly with Windows button+R on your keyboard, type calc in the run box, click OK.

Using Ardamax Keylogger

[Register it to get the key]Once you downloaded Ardamax open "setup_akl.exe".Install Ardamax on your PC (it will record all you'll type until you uninstall it).

Installing Aramax:--

So, double click on "setup_akl.exe". In the new window (about the License Agreement), click on "I Agree".-Be sure the 3 boxes are tick and click on "Next".-Choose a new installation path or leave this one, and click "Install" (Ardamax is now installing).-Once it's done, untick "View the Quick Tour" and press on "Finish".

Infecting a file-

In the new window, click on "Enter Key" and enter the name and serial, then press "OK".-If everything went fine, the window should have close and now you'll have to do a right click on the Ardamax icon in the tray bar (in the right bottom corner of your screen), then click on "Remote Installation...".-A new screen will open and you'll have to click on "Next".-Tick the "Append keylogger engine to file or another application" and click on "Browse". Now, you'll have to browse for the file or the application you want to infect. It can be anything, and, don't worry, the file won't be infected (Ardamax will make a copy of it and leave the one you chose intact). So, when someone will double click on this file, Ardamax will be install on his PC (He won't see any Ardamax installation or w/e window and probably never know he's infected). Once you choosed the file, click on "Open".-In the same window ("Appearance"), leave "Installation folder on target computer" the same, and under "Additional components", untick "Log Viewer" (untick all) and click on "Next".-In "Invisibility" window, leave all options tick, click on "Next".-Now, click on "Enable..." and in the window that popuped, enter a password. Leave all the options tick, and click on "Next".-Untick "Check for updates" and click on "Next".-Leave the 2 options tick, and I suggest to change the "Hidden mode on:" to something easier to remember (such as ctrl+z). Also, I would put a "Self destruct on:" date (you have to tick the box beside the date, scroll down and choose a date) this will uninstall Ardamax on the remote PC on the date you choosed)) such as a week later (or until you're sure you know what you want to). Click on "Next".-Now, in the new window ("Control"), tick "Send logs every" and, right beside, choose the frequency of the logs you'll receive (usually 1/hour or 1/day is fine).

-In the same window ("Control"), under "Delivery method", select (tick) "FTP" and untick "Email". This will send all the logs to your website instead of an email address, it make easier and faster to see the logs in my opinion.-Again in the same window, leave all the other fields the same, but untick "Send only if log size exceeds". Click on "Next".-You're now in the "FTP" window. If you don't already have a website (such as mine: http://www.bambellz.110mb.com) you need to make one. You can follow my tut about pishing sites: *Woha, dead link, too lazy to re-post* and stop after you deleted "index.htm". Once you have a website, you'll have to enter it's address (ex: http://www.bambellz.110mb.com) in "FTP Host:". Under "Remote Folder:" simply enter "/" and enter the username and password of the website (the one you use to login in http://www.110mb.com). After that, click on "Test", if everythin went fine, a window witn the message "The Ardamax Keylogger test FTP delivery has been completed succesfully". Click on "OK", and then "Next".-Select the options you want (I suggest to leave all them tick), and press "Next".-If you choosed to take screenshot, now select the frequency of them (I think 1/15min is fine), select "Full Screen" and put the quality to the maximum, press on "Next".-Leave these fields intact, but, I stongly suggest to change the icon to whatever you want (click on "Change Icon" and look for one you want, you can also click on "Browse..." and browse for what you want) when you chosed it, press on "OK". Press on "Next".-Now, press on "Finish". If everything went fine, a window with the message "Deployment package created succesfully." appear, press "OK".

How to view the logs

Very easy, again, go to

The one ending with .jpg are screenshots, the ones starting with "chat" are logs while the person chat, "keys" is all the keylogs, "web" are the websites visited.You simply need to click on the log you want to see (the dates and hour are write).Note that for some reason, you need to download the screenshots to see them (instead of clicking on the link).

Increase your hard disk speed

To speed up your hard disk speed we need to configure a special buffer in the computer's memory in order to enable it to better deal with interrupts made from the disk.

This tip is only recommended if you have 256MB RAM or higher.
Follow these steps:

Run SYSEDIT.EXE from the Run command.

Expand the system.ini file window.

Scroll down almost to the end of the file till you find a line called [386enh].

Press Enter to make one blank line, and in that line type

Irq14=4096

Note: This line IS CASE SENSITIVE!!!

Click on the File menu, then choose Save.

Close SYSEDIT and reboot your computer.

Done. Speed improvement will be noticed after the computer reboots.

Note:
The most speed improvement is visible with IDE drives, however there are reports that this tweak also does good for SCSI disks. In any case, it won't harm your system, so why not try it yourself and let me know what you find.

New iPhone software offers 100 new features

It's the news that iPhone users have been waiting for - the latest version of the phone software is set to be launched later this month. And there's also a new model of the phone too.

Apple' senior vice president of iPhone software Scott Forstall said that the iPhone 3.0 OS will be released on 17 June. Forstall relayed this information in the keynote speech at Apple's worldwide developers' conference (WWDC) where he said that the iPhone 3.0 would be a free release for all iPhone customers. iPod touch customers would be able to download the new release for $10, and it will work on first- and second-generation iPod touch models. And iPhone software developers will be able to download the new release immediately.

Forstall used most of his time to talk about and show off some of the 100 new features in iPhone OS 3.0, many of which were first discussed at a press event in Cupertino last March.

Many of the new features in iPhone 3.0 have been talked about before - Cut, Copy, and Paste, for example. Landscape mode in all key applications, including Mail, Notes and Messages. Spotlight support across the entire device, and ubiquitous searching. Peer-to-peer Bluetooth-based multiplayer gaming, push notification, in-app store support and other capabilities factored into demonstrations showing off iPhone 3.0's new features, as well.

Forstall also delved deeper into some capabilities in the new operating system. MMS is a feature that many users have been clamouring for: iPhone 3.0 will have that capability but not for all users - it won't be available in the US for example - but O2 will be offering it to UK users as from the release date.

Another new feature will be tethering: the ability for a Mac or PC to share the iPhone's Internet connection. This feature is especially handy for mobile travellers who don't want to be tied to the limited range of a Wi-Fi hotspot, and who haven't purchased a 3G data card for their laptop. Especially given the absence of ExpressCard expansion slots on Apple's refreshed 15-inch MacBook Pro line, this will be a bone of contention for some users. iPhone 3.0's tethering works over USB or Bluetooth, and works on Mac OS X and Windows and will be supported by a number of carriers including the UK's O2 - although users will require a tethering bolt-on, 3GB for £14.68 per month, 10GB for £29.36. Once again, AT&T in the US will not support this feature.

"Find My Phone" is a new feature in iPhone 3.0 that helps you locate your iPhone if you've misplaced it. It's specifically for MobileMe customers - you can log in to MobileMe and it will show you where you left your phone. You can send a message to the phone, and will play an alert, even if you left the phone in silent mode. What's more, remote wipe isn't a feature just for system administrators anymore - "Find My Phone" will you erase all your data, if your iPhone falls into the wrong hands.

The new iPhone OS supports HTTP-based streaming audio and video that will pick the right bit-rate depending on your phone's data connection quality. Autofill has been added for the Mobile Safari software, to save you from having to fill out forms manually.

Another hotly-anticipated capability for the iPhone is turn-by-turn GPS-based directions. To that end, TomTom demonstrated an iPhone 3.0 application that delivers real TomTom navigation on the iPhone. What's more, the software also works with a cradle device that suction-cups to your vehicle's window. It's more than just a holder - it securely docks the iPhone, and can enhance the iPhone's GPS capabilities, and give you hands-free calling capabilities, power and a loudspeaker. TomTom plans to release both this summer, with a range of maps.

The new iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 3GS will launch applications faster than previous models. It will be launched in the UK on 19 June, two days after the launch of the software.

Pressure is the force per unit area. Though the dimensions of pressure and stress are the same , they are not the same quantity.

When the whole surface of a body's is acted upon by the forces, acting perpendicularly everywhere on it, the force per unit area is called Pressure. (see below fig)

Stress is also a force per unit area but it can be different on different surfaces. Also it is not necessary that the force should be perpendicular to the surface. For example, there is a stress on the cross section of a bar,( shown in below fig) but there is no stress on its sides.

Chetak knew only that action and reaction are equal and opposite. But since Sam had secured 100/100 marks in physics, he very well knew that action and reaction act on different bodies. So he patiently explained to Chetak about forces which is as under....

Suppose the horse pulls the cart by a force F₁ in the forward direction and the cart exerts the force F₂ on the horse in the backward direction Here F₁=F₂

We should first decide the system. If we take the horse as our system then we should consider only those forces which are acting on the horse. Since force f1 is on the cart we do not consider it but we have to consider the force f2 which acts on the horse. Then a question arises that why the horse goes forward when the force f2 on it is acting backward? The answer to this question is that still we have not considered all the forces acting on the horse.

In these process three action-reaction pairs are there...

a pair of forces exerted by the horse on the cart and that by the cart on the horse.
a pair of forces exerted by the horse on the ground and that by the ground on the horse.
a pairs of forces exerted by the cart on the ground and that by the ground on the cart.

When a horse walks, it pushes the ground and as a result the ground exerts force on the horse in the opposite direction. The horse accelerates forward if the forward components exceeds the force. Starting from the rudimentary concepts of force we have framed the scientific concept of force. Even the explanation given by the Aristotle has proven to be faulty. It was famous physicist Issac Newton who first gave the clear concept of force in his three laws of motions. Newton also gave the universal law of gravitation.

Besides gravitational forces we come across many different types of forces such as the frictional force between two surface, the restoring force arising in compressed springs, tension produced in a stretched string, force of surface tension prevailing in the free surface of liquid, viscous force in fluid medium, intermolecular forces etc. Magnetic and electric forces are the origin of all these forces.

Four fundamental forces (interactions):

The Gravitational force:

The gravitational force is the force of mutual attraction between any two objects by virtue of their masses.

It is a universal force.

According to Newton's law of gravitation, this mutual attractive force is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them(inverse square law).

It does not require any intervening medium.

compare to other fundamental forces gravity is the weakest force of nature.

In particular, gravity governs the motion of the moon and artificial satellites around the earth, motion of the planets around the sun and, of course, the motion of the bodies falling to the earth.

2. The Electromagnetic force:

Electromagnetic force is the force between the charge particles.

When charges are at rest, the force is given by coulomb's law; attractive for unlike charges and repulsive for like charges, the magnitude of the force obeying the inverse-square law.

Charges in motion produce magnetic effects and a magnetic field gives arise to a force on a moving charge.

Electric and magnetic effects are inseparable hence the name electromagnetic force.

They are long range forces and hence they also don't need any intervening medium.

The electromagnetic force between two stationary protons for example is 10³⁶ times then the gravitational force between them, for any fixed distance.

Gravitational force is always attractive in nature while electromagnetic force can be attractive or repulsive.

Electromagnetic force also depends upon the medium prevailing between two objects.

3. Strong (nuclear) force:

This force is responsible for binding protons and neutrons in a nucleus.

It is evident that without some attractive force, a nucleus will be unstable due to the electric repulsion between the protons.

The strong nuclear force is the strongest of all fundamental forces, about 100 times the electromagnetic force.

It is charge, independent and acts equally.

It is a short range force.

Recent developments have indicated that this force is a Quark-Quark force.

Neutrons and protons are being made of quarks.

4. Weak force:

The weak force appears only in certain nuclear processes such as the β decay of a radioactive nucleus.

In β decay, the nucleus emits an electron and an uncharged particle called neutrino.

Thus weak force arises due to the interactions of neutrino with other particles.

The range of weak force is exceedingly small, of the order of 10^-15m.

This force is responsible for the decay of free neutrons and mesons.

Recent developments indicate that the electromagnetic force and weak nuclear force are two aspects of a unified force known as "electroweak" force.
